This is an outdoor roller hockey league. We play on a concrete rink that is located on a Pensacola Beach public park. We play on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the evening until dark. Hours are posted and
*****Fall Hours*****

****Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHJfcsaUEBg for a good video that shows the kind of play and so forth.
Between June-Aug it is usually too hot to play earlier than 6, and it stays dark until about 8, giving us plenty of time. Even with 100ยบ heat, it is not too bad after 6 due to stong beach winds and some shade, so dont let that stop you from coming out!!
Between Sept and Nov We switch to a 5pm to dark time frame. It gets too dark around 7pm by Sept 1st so even towards Nov 1st we start leaning towards an earlier start.
Start time is pretty much about 2.5 to 3 hours prior to sunset. The earlier you get there the more hockey you play, but most people get there 2.5 hours roughly prior to sunset. In the winter we have been known to start as early as 1pm but we do realize people have work and such, so we try to do the best we can.
Anyone is invited to come down anytime to practice and use the rink. There are nets available that have been donated by various participants. We ask that you please clean up any water bottles or garbage, and take good care of our rink while you are there.
This is the only roller hockey in the area. We have people come all the way from Mobile just to play here. Usually there is enough people there to play a game of 4 on 4 with a couple of subs on each side. We also have goalies that come down frequently, and also have shooter tutor nets in case they are not there. The surface is concrete, and is a bit hard on equipment. We have pucks we use that slide pretty well, but it certainly is not a sheet of ice.
Required Equipment: Inline skates, stick.
Strongly Suggested: Gloves and shin pads.
Optional: Helmets, visor/face shield, elbow pads, hockey pants
Equipment notes: This is a concrete surface, so outdoor wheels are a necessity unless you want to buy new wheels every week. Shin pads are strongly suggested, and 95% of players wear them. 5% of players don't wear shin pads, they get hit with hard wrist shots/slap shots and have bruised and bloody legs. About 20% of people wear helmets. We try to play safe and keep the sticks down but it does happen, so it is your call.
